Session 2 - Gaining and Sustaining Momentum

Session 3 - Brand Positioning For Success

⚙️ As a program graduate you will receive:

🛗 Media Elevator Pitch

Similar to the classic elevator pitch, we will craft a statement that is short and captivating. The main difference is that this pitch is tailored for the media and will focus on details that allow media outlets to see the potential for a story that is current and relevant.

📄 Press Kit

Throughout this program we will prompt you to gather the right materials to build your own press kit. Some elements include headshot and bio. A photographer will be present at the closing in-person event so that you can get new headshots or refresh your collection!

💪🏾 Confidence

Approaching the media can be intimidating when you don’t know what they are looking for, or don’t understand the process. This program will help to build your knowledge so you can approach your media goals with ease.

🧠 Knowledge of the Media Process

Having an understanding of the media process helps to avoid confusion or anxiety when approaching outlets. In our sessions you will receive tips on the ideal time to pitch, how to pitch, and how to follow up.

👩🏽‍💼👩🏽‍💼 Networking Opportunities

This will be a cohort of diverse founders with shared experiences and we plan to create opportunities for you to connect during and outside of the program.

🗣Opportunities to Practice

This program isn’t just about having experts talking to you and telling you what’s best. We want you to feel comfortable applying the techniques and strategies on your own. Session activities and practice time will give you the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned.

📸 Headshot

A photographer will be present to take headshots at the in-person event at the end of the program.

Qualifications

🙋🏽‍♀️What qualifies as an early stage startup?

Companies that have not yet raised their series A funding round are considered to be early stage. You may have raised a pre-seed or seed round funding round from angel investors and VCs. At this stage, you have developed and deployed your product with early customers, are demonstrating product-market fit, have some sales, and have a small team (typically under 20 employees).

💰What if I haven’t raised any funding for my company, or don’t qualify as an early stage company?

We also take into consideration traction and revenue when reviewing applications. If the content of the program addresses your company’s needs, but you have raised less (or more capital), or you have a larger team, you are still welcome to apply and we will review your submission to assess whether you're a good fit for the program.

I enjoy eating, adventure, great conversations on my friend's couch or at rooftop brunches.
